Hinata Hyuga is a Kunoichi in Konohagakure’s Hidden Leaf village, living with her mother and younger sister. As the heiress to the Hyuga clan, Hinata was raised with the expectation of one day becoming the head of the household.
She is a truly kind and empathetic character who, for the most part, supports Naruto from the start. Her tragic family history combined with her devotion to Naruto make it impossible not to feel sympathy for her.
Though her strength is relatively weak, Hinata is fiercely dedicated to training and striving to reach her maximum strength. She also shows great compassion towards her little sister Hanabi – so much so that even during a match to determine their heir to the clan she would hesitate to hurt her.
Her chakra control is exceptional, with some extra training having enabled her to transform water sources into projectiles (known as Water Needles). This enables her to escape restraints and attack those in her vicinity without sacrificing herself; making her an invaluable member of Team 10.

Neji and Naruto battled against her in the Chunin exam, with Naruto cheering her on and making her much stronger. This spurred Neji on to develop her own motto: “I never give up!” This has driven her to always use whatever strength is available to fight with.
She holds a deep respect for her elders, particularly her father Hiashi Hyuga. She is fiercely loyal to him and willing to put aside personal safety and wellbeing to care for him.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Hinata and her sister Hanabi were engaged in a clan match to determine who would inherit their family’s power. As Hinata’s prowess began to rival that of her younger sister, Hinata began doubting herself and became increasingly frail; ultimately losing to Hanabi.
Due to this, her father and grandfather became deeply worried about her future. They began doubting her abilities, believing that she’d never reach her full potential. Fortunately, this belief proved false and she was able to demonstrate her worth.
After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Hinata regained her strength and was once again able to spar with Neji and build stronger relationships with him. Additionally, she developed an admiration for her younger sister Hanabi and began training more frequently alongside Neji as well as showing more affection towards her.
Kumogakure shinobi were ambushed by a group of ninja from Ni and their chimera dogs, and Hinata was among them. Together they formed an underground passage to escape from the attacks and eventually made it to the Moon where she reunited with Naruto, whose increased interest in her thoughts and wellbeing delighted Hinata and gave her renewed motivation to finish the scarf.
